Overview

Kenya lies on the East African coast. It is bordered with Uganda in the West, South Sudan and Somalia in the North and Tanzania in the south.

Kenya gave the world the word ‘safari’ and its easy to understand why. Overlooked by snow-capped mountain peaks of Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro, lined by picture-perfect Indian Ocean beaches and split asunder by the Great Rift Valley, Kenya is a land of beautiful contrasts. Blessed with such landscapes, spectacular game viewing opportunities come with the turf, from the elephant herds treading the dry plains of Amboseli to the dry country specials such as Grevy’s zebra on the scorched rocky plains of Samburu, not to mention the incredible concentration of predators and the famous annual migration of wildebeest on the acacia-studded grasslands of the Maasai Mara. Visitors to Kenya will enjoy its artful blend of wilderness and tradition, with contemporary sophistication and modernity – neatly epitomised by its red-robed Maasai pastoralists who roam the savannahs armed with traditional spears and the latest mobile phone.
